The work in this exhibition is the result of a week-long residency by Danish artist Ragna Mouritzen. Having just a week to produce the work for the show, the time constraints have influenced the work itself. In her sculptural work Ragna lets the physicality of the materials inform the process and guide her to the end product.
With repetition and intense manual labour as a large part of Mouritzen’s work the pieces often vacillate between similarity and uniqueness. The serialized nature of the works highlight the repetitive aspect of making and the highly time consuming efforts put into the making process.
